GUJRANWALA, May 25: Despite depositing urgent fee, the National Database and Registration Authority’s (Nadra) swift centres have failed to provide computerized national identity cards to seekers within the stipulated period.
Some citizens said here on Sunday that the Nadra had established a swift centre at Trust Plaza for providing computerized NICs to seekers within 20 days. For this purpose, the Nadra had charged Rs180 each, but it could not deliver the NICs to seekers even after six months.
Students of colleges, universities, women and other people, are facing hardships without NICs. Some students complained that they could not participate in their annual examinations of FA, BA and MA for lack of NICs. They accused that the swift centre staff misbehaved when they were pointed out that they were duty bound to issue NICs within the stipulated period.
Some youths alleged that their visas had been expired because the swift centres could not provide them their cards.
