KARACHI: Ruet-i-Hilal Committee announced on Thursday that the moon of the month of Shawwal had been sighted and that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Friday.

The announcement was made by Chairman of the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee, Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman, after chairing the meeting of the committee in Karachi.

The Ruet-i-Hilal Committee had convened earlier in a meeting for three hours.

Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman extended his gratitude to the Ulema of Peshawar for their cooperation in the meetings leading up to the moon sighting.

Rehman said the confirmations of moon sighting were received from many parts of the country.

After evening prayers, testimonies of moon sitings were reported in Islamabad, Sialkot, Jacobabad, Sanghar, Buner, Badin and other cities all over the country.
