KARACHI, May 25: The Pakistan Muslim League (N) on Sunday paraded through Sharae Quaideen, from Khudadad Roundabout to Quaid’s mausoleum, with torches held high.

Described as “torch-bearer rally”, the event was organized by the party’s youth wing. It was part of the celebrations of “Yaume Takbeer week” which will culminate in the holding of a public meeting on Wednesday, near Masjid Qaba, Metroville.

The participants of the rally, who were chanting slogans of “Revive democracy”, “LFO not acceptable”, and “long live Nawaz Sharif,” when reached one of the entry points of the mausoleum, they were not allowed to enter the premises.

PML leaders Salim Zia, Sardar Rahim, Nehal Hashmi and others, who led the rally, in protest offered Fateha outside the entry point before dispersing peacefully.

PML(N) women’s wing will hold a demonstration outside Karachi Press Club at 4pm on Monday.
