KARACHI, Dec 11: Former Pakistan captain and wicketkeeper Moin Khan and and the man who replaced him, Rashid Latif, have been appointed captains of the two KCCA White and Blues for the forthcoming Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Grade-I.

The decision was taken by the Executive Council of the Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) at its meeting held Tuesday.

In the absence of Rashid Latif with Pakistan cricket team, KCCA Selection Committee was authorized to nominate senior player to lead KCCA Blues.

The Council also appointed Qasim Usmani and Ayub Hussain as officials of KCCA Whites while Shafiq Kazmi and Mushir Rabbani were named officials for KCCA Blues.. Shoukat Rajput was appointed Camp commandant of KCCA teams.

The Council appointed Mushir Rabbani as Chairman KCCA Zone III. S.H. Hashmi, Senior Vice President KCCA presented a cheque of Rs. 50,000/- for sponsorship of Muhammad Essa E.H. Jaffer cricket tournament, being organized by KCCA.

The Council appealed to the Pakistaan Cricket Board (PCB) to review the findings of the outgoing Scrutiny Committee as many active clubs have been left over.

The Council also decided to honour Moin and Shahid Afridi by awarding Gold Medals for their world record feats. A separate Celebration Committee is making arrangements. Moin had set a world record of most victims behind the stumps in One Dayers and Shahid Khan Afridi was the scorer of the fastest century off 37 balls in limited overs version against Sri Lanka at Nairobi, Kenya.

The council also condoled the sad demise of former KCCA Coach and former first class Ranji Trophy cricketer Mr. A. K. Majeed, former I.G. Police Mr. Hassan Mustafa who was elder brother of Chief Coach of KCCA Mr. Ahmed Mustafa.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of M. Munir Hussain, president KCCA.
