I hope Mr. Snowden, is right when he says his Son will be safe in Russia. I don't agree at all with what the Son has done. It seemed more like show business than an attempt to inform the American people of what you think their government is doing to them. Maybe I'm naive, but I believe you could have safely revealed what information you have in your own country. However, you are someone's Son and, of course, he wants you safe and one can at least understand that.
Time will tell. You may be safe, but will you be content and at peace with your actions?

Edward Snowden has done a favor to the world by disclosing what Americans do behind the scenes to spy on other nations, friendly or otherwise and their own people. He seems to have got his inspiration from Julian Assange. These young men have taken great risks to inform the people across the globe about crimes being committed by the governments and their functionaries under legal cover. Assange exposed corrupt governments working against the interest of their own people. Its videos showed American brutality in Iraq.
These people are not criminals but heroes who have stood up against crimes being committed behind the scenes by the governments under legal protection.
