KARACHI: HSC part-I results announced

KARACHI, Oct 11: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi on Thursday notified the results of HSC part I (class XI) annual examinations 2001 of the Science Pre- Engineering Group.

A total of 17,620 candidates had appeared in the examinations out of which 6,908 cleared all the six papers while 3,188 were declared pass in five papers.

2,561 candidates passed four papers while 2,723 were declared pass in three papers.

The number of candidates who cleared two papers only was 1,007 while 344 candidates were declared pass in just one paper.

The results of 824 candidates were withheld.

A statement of the board said that the marks statements would be issued after two weeks.

Scrutiny of answer books can be done on payment of a prescribed fee on application within 40 days of the declaration of the results, it was announced.

GENERAL GROUP: The board also announced the results of HSC Part I (class XI) Science General Group annual examination 2001.

2,356 candidates had appeared in these examinations. The results of 388 were withheld.

Of the total number of candidates who appeared in these examinations 550 were declared successful in all the six papers while 510 passed five papers.

As many as 494 candidates cleared four papers and 262 were successful in three papers.

The number of candidates who were declared successful in two papers was 113 while 33 could clear only one paper.

SUPPLE EXAM: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi, has announced the dates for acceptance of forms for the HSC Home Economics and Humanities (private) groups supplementary examinations 2001.

According to a BIE press release, forms for the two groups are available at the board office and respective colleges. Regular students are required to deposit their examination fee at their colleges, while private candidates should submit it, along with the prescribed fee, at the HBL, Hussain D’Silva branch.

Forms and fee will be received without late fee till October 26, while with a late fee of Rs100, Rs300, Rs1000 up to November 8, November 22 and November 30 respectively.

The examinations will be held in the 2nd week of December.

Meanwhile, those candidates who appeared in the HSC annual examination 2000 for the first time can submit their forms to appear in the supplementary examinations 2001 as a last chance irrespective of number of failed subject/papers.

This was announced by the Controller of Examinations, Board of Intermediate Education Karachi, on Thursday.

He also clarified that all those candidates, who appeared for the first time in HSC annual examinations 2001, could submit their examination forms for the examinations irrespective of number of failed subjects/papers.

All such forms should be submitted as per the given schedule as announced earlier, the announced further.—APP
