KOHAT, May 23: The town council on Friday passed a vote of no-confidence against the Nazim and announced that an interim head would be appointed within 10 days.

At a session of the council held at Town Council Hall, Haji Iftikhar moved a resolution demanding removal of Town Nazim Haji Sarfaraz Khan. Of the 16 members of the council, nine voted in favour of the resolution.

The convener of the council, Haji Misal Khan, later informed the members that an interim Nazim would be appointed within 10 days and election for the post would be held after a notification was issued by  the provincial government in this regard.

ARRESTED: The district police arrested 21 proclaimed offenders and seized arms and ammunition during a two-week drive, said a press release issued on Friday.

The police seized 21 kalashnikovs, a hand grenade, 31 pistols, two kalakovs, 18 rifles, three daggers, 17 chargers, 1,742 cartridges and 21kg of charas.
