HYDERABAD, May 22: The Cantonment Board, Hyderabad, has assured the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) that the basic problems of the people will be solved.

A delegation, comprising MNA Prof Khalid Wahab and MPA Aslam Pervez of MQM, called on the executive officer of the cantonment board on Wednesday and held detailed discussions on various problems, including sanitation, absence of development schemes, ban on the grant of NOCs on power, gas and water connections and problems of Katchi Abadis.

They told the official that the people residing in the limits of the cantonment board were facing many problems. They said that it was the responsibility of the board to provide basic facilities to the people.

The executive officer assured the MQM leaders that a meeting of the board will be convened soon and all the basic problems will be resolved.—Bureau
