KARACHI, May 22: Four ships carrying chemicals, general cargo and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where five ships, Dubai and Hyundai Stride to unload and load containers, Anker Gracht to offload and load general cargo, Norna, to load molasses, and Southern Imperial to offload chemicals were berthed after the departure of four ships.

They were: Pu He, APL Cairo, Hyundai Stride and Com-jo-Jimenez. While Anker Gracht, Norna, Dubai, Southern Imperial and MOL Sincerity are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was relatively slow as the total fell to 52,242 tons from the previous 67,000 tons. The export cargo comprised 11,083 tons of general commodities and 17,000 tons of molasses, while import cargo totalled 24,159 tons.

The following ships are due on Friday: Jipro Dream, with 5,000 tons of chemicals, Kota Tegap and X-Press Kailash, with containers and Le He with general cargo.

Port Qasim

KARACHI, May 22: Two ships, Jo Lind and Qem Star carrying edible oil and chemicals, were allotted berths at the Multi-purpose and Engro Vopak Terminals during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, another container ship, Msc Austria, arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy remained modest as four ships were busy in loading/offloading wheat, edible oil, chemicals and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 27,541 tons comprising 26,554 tons of import cargo and 987 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Contship Chempion sailed out, while Jipro Dream and Southern Imperial were due to arrive at outer anchorage of the port on Thursday.
