Merchant XI in U-17 final

KARACHI, May 21: Hussain Merchant XI reached the final of the Syed Afzal Ahmed Shah Under-17 cricket championship, after beating G.H. Dars XI by four wickets on Wednesday.

Batting first G.H. Dars XI were bowled out for 126 runs in 27.2 overs. Rizwan top scored with (30) and Ashfaq contributed 28 runs.

Ashfaq Tanoli picked up four wickets for 39 runs and Raheel Lakhani three for 32.

Merchant XI reached the winning target of 127 runs in 29.4 overs, losing six wickets. Asim Niazi hammered 42 runs and Wahid Sarwar (20). Jerry Decruze and Tariq Zafar ended up with four for 29 and two wickets for 36.

The final will be played on Monday, May 26, at the Agha Khan Gymkhana ground commencing from 9-30 a.m.
