THE Sindh Public Service Commission has announced, through advertisement No.8/2013 dated 4.7.2013, that the Combined Competitive Examination 2013 (CCE) will be held in the ensuing year.
The age limit for those aspirants who are not in government service is fixed at 28 years.
It would not be out of place to mention here that the last CCE was held in 2008. The then chief minister had, after having considered the long spell of the previous regime when competitive examinations were not held regularly, allowed fresh candidates blanket relaxation of age up to 15 years.
Now when the SPSC is announcing the holding of the competitive examination after a lapse of more than five years, the candidates who have been waiting for this examination since then have now crossed the age limit for no fault of theirs.
The chief minster of Sindh may consider sympathetically the future of fresh aspirants who have become ineligible only because of the delay on the part of the SPSC in holding the CCE.
I make an appeal to him to kindly allow fresh aspirants age relaxation to the extent of five years, enabling them to appear in the competitive examinations.
