LAHORE, May 20: Pakistan’s former cricket Test stars Imtiaz Ahmad, Zulfiqar Ahmad, Waqar Hasan and Fazal Mahmood were disappointed with current standard of the game and suggested to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) various suggestions for the its improvement.

They were speaking at a function held on Monday night in their honour and were awarded gold medals.

Former skipper and wicketkeeper-batsman Imtiaz advised the PCB chairman to be careful when picking advisors and urged him to appoint only Pakistan and not to go for foreigners.

Zulfiqar advised that only appoint Pakistani coaches should be appointed as they can create unity and team spirit.

Waqar said that there seemed to be lack of unity in the present Pakistani playerse. “We always played as a well-knit unit”.

Fazal also showed his concern over the country’s cricketing affairs but said he would be happy to advises PCB if asked.
