THIS is with reference to President Hamid Karzai’s recent press conference.

In his tirade, he just wanted to hold the Taliban’s attention by saying that they should fight against Afghanistan’s enemies rather than destroying their own country.

Karzai holds Pakistan responsible for border clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan as 2014 is going to be an election year in Afghanistan and Karzai’s own future is also undecided.

That is why he has passed these comments against Pakistan.

Indeed, being an elected representative is not like getting carte blanche to do anything.

Karzai should not berate Pakistan and hold it responsible for his own wrong policies, otherwise this critical situation will create a lot of animus.
