This correspondent learnt here on Monday that out of four cases sent to Islamabad laboratories, two cases — those of Hanif, 7, son of Khamiso Mallah, and Noor Khatoon, 2 — were found positive. Both the polio-infected children belong to Amb village.

The cases of an infant, Mohammad Amin, son of Mir Mohammad Jamali, and Noor Bano, of Mewo Khan Jamali village, Shah Bunder taluka, are being examined.

District health officer Dr Hafeez Memon told this correspondent that a vaccination programme had been launched in the Shah Bunder taluka and 62 mobile teams, comprising six doctors, 20 health workers and 36 vaccinators, had been constituted for the purpose.
