OKARA, May 19: The postmortem on the body of Muhammad Amir could not be conducted on Monday because of the non-availability of the SHO of Okara Saddar police station.
SHO Abdul Majid Bhullar was to appear before an anti-terrorism court in Lahore and Saddar police requested the district and sessions judge to postpone the postmortem. Judge Ghulam Husain Awan fixed May 21 for postmortem.
Amir was killed on May 11 when Rangers allegedly opened indiscriminate fire on the tenants of Okara military farm who were holding a demonstration for the release of their fellows.
Okara district and sessions judge had on May 14 ordered exhumation of Amir. A medical board, headed by the Okara DHQ Hospital medical superintendent, had also been constituted to conduct the postmortem.
