KARACHI, May 19: An anti-terrorism court acquitted on Monday three men in a murder-cum-robbery case.

Judge Arshad Noor Khan of the ATC-3 exonerated Mohammed Asif, Safeer Ahmed and Asif Rasheed from all charges, giving them benefit of doubt.

The three were prosecuted for committing robbery in the house of Mushtaq Ahmed Bajwa and later killing their victim on Jan 21, this year within the limits of the Model Colony police.

ACQUITTED: The additional district and sessions judge, East, Kauser Sultana, acquitted on Monday four people, including a woman, in a house robbery case.

The judge exonerated Ms Sunny Micheal, Adnan, Aamir and Shafi Mohammed from all charges as the prosecution could not prove its case against them.

The four were prosecuted for looting prize bonds worth Rs250,000 and valuables form the house of Mohammed Yaseen on Nov 23, 1998, in Gulshan-i-Iqbal.

ACTION AGAINST IO: The judicial magistrate, South, Anwarul Hasan Siddiqui, ordered the Baghdadi police to registered a case against a sub-inspector for torturing a man in custody.

The magistrate ordered the SHO to lodge a criminal case against SI Salimullah Marwat, who had picked up Laiq Khan from his house on May 7 and implicated him in a robbery case after subjecting him to severe physical torture.
