At least 175 people have died and 700 more injured after an eight-storey building housing several garment factories collapsed on the outskirts of Bangladesh's capital yesterday. Armed with concrete cutters and cranes, hundreds of fire service and army rescue workers struggled to find survivors in the mountain of concrete and mangled steel.

Families of the victims mourn for their loss near the debris, while some others remain hopeful that their love ones who are still missing would be safely rescued. —Photos by Agencies
