KARAK, April 20: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-S candidate on NA-15 Maulana Shah Abdul Aziz and candidate of Warana Grand Qaumi Jirga for PK-40 Qari Shah Nawaz on Saturday decided to support each other in the coming elections. The decision was taken at a meeting held at the election office of the latter.

Workers and supporters of both the groups were present on the occasion.

Sources said it was first electoral alliance in the district at local level without involvement of parties. They claimed the alliance would be a threat to the strong positions of Malik Zafar Azam, a provincial assembly candidate of PML-N, and Malik Qasim, an independent candidate of the provincial assembly.

BODY FOUND: Policy found body of a man in the hilly area of Sordag.

Latamber police took the body into custody and brought it to police station for recognition. Later, the man was identified from a chit recovered from his pocket as Niaz (25), resident of Miran Shah Darpakhel. The body was handed over to his relatives.

On the complaints of the relatives the police registered FIR against unknown persons.

Meanwhile, a teenaged boy, Ramzan of Chanikhel, was killed after falling from a hill while taking firewood to home. He was shifted to a nearby health centre but succumbed to injuries there.

PRISONER HELD: Karak police claimed arresting a notorious proclaimed offender who was on the run from the Bannu jail. He was wanted to Karak and Kohat police in different heinous crimes.

Police sources informed on Saturday PO Bahader Khan alias Patay Khan of Jangle Khel, Kohat, was arrested by Terri police during a routine patrol near Terri. — Correspondent
