Javed Mansoor’s winning knock

KARACHI, May 16: Candyland moved into the quarterfinal of the 12th Hinopak Trophy KCCA Inter Firms Cricket League Tournament after defeating Karachi Building Authority (KBCA) by 49 runs on Thursday at TMC Ground.

Batting first Candy Landscored 192 for nine wickets in 40 overs. Javed Mansoor (64), Ahsan Kamran (31), Faraz Ahmed Khan (25) and Salim A Rahim (21) were the major contributors.

Farjam Ali (2/45), Zahid Ghouri (2/19) and Akber Rahman (2/45) shared the wickets.

In reply KBCA were bowled out for 143 in 35.4 overs. Only Farjam Ali (38) Akber Rahman (25) showed defiance.

The bowling honours were shared by Saeed Khan (2/22), Zameer Khan (2/29) and Faraz Ahmed Khan (2/38).—PPI
