PESHAWAR, May 16: Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarian Central President Makhdoom Amin Fahim on Friday said that a meeting of leaders of all political parties was being held within a few days where it would become clear as to which party was to show flexibility on the Legal Framework Order (LFO).

Talking to newsmen here during his visit to a hunger strike camp set up by PPPP for return of PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto, he said that all political parties had submitted their recommendations to the committee, constituted for the LFO, and added that these recommendations would be debated later and until the meeting could reach a decision, it was impossible to say anything in advance.

He, however, said that the LFO issue must be tackled within the framework of the 1973 Constitution.

The PPPP leader said that they wished that democracy must be strengthened on the floor of the House.

When asked about the flexibility of the Opposition on the LFO issue, he said that a meeting of leaders of all political parties was being held and it would come to the fore soon which party was to show flexibility on the LFO issue.

He said that as long as the LFO issue was not resolved, all parties wished to avoid any situation which could made the issue more complex. It was the need of the hour to be silent on this issue, he maintained.

When questioned about the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Mr Fahim said that the united Opposition was consisted of leaders of all political parties. He, however, made it clear that their first priority was to tackle the LFO issue and the Leader of the Opposition was a secondary matter.
