QUETTA, June 27: Two people died and another suffered serious injuries on Thursday when a bomb went off in Kuchlak tehsil, some 25km from here, police said.

They said a man was planting an improvised explosive device near a mosque in village Killi Kateer on the Quetta-Chaman highway when it exploded, killing the suspect and a passer-by, and injuring another passer-by.

“One of the dead has been identified as Lal Khan. He was a resident of the area. The other has not been identified yet,” police said, adding he might be the person who was planting explosives near the walls of the mosque.

The body and the suspect’s limbs strewn several yards around the site of the blast and the injured were shifted to hospital by law-enforcement agencies personnel.

The injured, identified as Gul Ameen, lives in the area.
