KARACHI, May 16: A dozen ships carrying chemical, tallow, general cargo and containers are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.
Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where three ships, Rojarok Naree, to offload fertilizer, Nur al-Jubail to offload chemicals and Florida, to unload palm oil were berthed after the departure of six.
The ships, which departed included Hyundai Future, PONL Mahe, X-press Kailash, Al-Mariyah, Nur Yanbu and Nur al-Jubail, while Shirvan, Florida, Kota Indah, Wan Hai-303 and Virginia are due to sail out on Saturday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was modest where a total tonnage of 46,768 tons comprising 6,252 tons of export cargo and 40,516 tons of import tonnage was handled.
The following ships are due on Saturday: Mary Ann, with gas oil, Wan Hai 303, Australia Bridge, Sima Bahar, Iwato, Kota Teraju, Mar Challenger, with containers, Kaghan, and Rony, with general cargo, North Sea Anvil, with high speed diesel, Crystal, with chemicals, and Andhika Adhidaya, with tallow.
KARACHI, May 16: Three ships, Francisca Schulte, Favorita and Jo Brevik scheduled to load/offload containers, wheat and edible oil were allotted berths during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Friday.
Meanwhile, another ship, Entalina, carrying edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage.
Five ships were busy in loading/offloading containers, wheat, edible oil, and furnace oil.
A cargo volume of 61,303 tons comprising 55,351 tons of import tonnage and 5,952 tons of export cargo was handled.
Flag Tom sailed off while Dorthe Olden Droff was due to leave the port.
