HYDERABAD, May 14: No case was registered with the Pinyari police against the killers of a vegetable seller.

Faiz Mohammad Leghari was found dead near his house in Hala Naka area of the city on Tuesday. He had left his house Monday night.

Police said that Muhammad Khan, the brother of deceased, was trying to locate Sher Khan who was believed to have accompanied the deceased that night.

The body, which was taken to the civil hospital mortuary for autopsy, bore marks of torture.

SNATCHED: Armed robbers deprived a student, Abdul Rehman, of his motorcycle (HDB-8355) outside the Public Service Commission office at gunpoint on Wednesday. A case was lodged with the GOR police.

ROBBERY: A group of robbers looted Rs30,000, gold ornaments, a mobile phone from the residence of Adil Qazi on Wednesday.

AAG: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Wednesday issued notices to the Additional Advocate General of Sindh and police officials of Tando Mohammad Khan on a constitutional petition.

The petition was filed by Abdul Hafeez Arain, Mohammad Akhtar Rajput and Mohammad Hussain Soomro, challenging the ban on the sale of Mainpuri. The TPO of Tando Mohammad Khan, SHO of Tando Mohammad Khan police station and the DPO of Hyderabad had been cited as respondents.

The petitioners prayed the court to declare the ban, put by the TPO of Tando Mohammad Khan, on the sale of Mainpuri illegal.

They further prayed the court to direct the DPO to pay Rs100,000 to the petitioners as compensation for burning their stock of Mainpuri through the TPO.
