AGRA, May 12: Several right-wing Hindu activists on Monday shouted slogans and waved black flags in protest against a visit by a delegation of Pakistani legislators to the Taj Mahal.

Activists of the Bajrang Dal and Shiv Sena — both radical Hindu outfits — waved the flags and raised anti-Pakistan slogans at Sikandar Fort, where the Pakistani MPs had attended a ceremony during a visit to the Taj.

“They also tried to burn the Pakistani flag but police arrested them,” an eyewitness said.

“Pakistan MPs go back,” was one of the slogans shouted by the activists.

A further protest, including an attempt to burn an effigy of President Pervez Musharraf near the monument, was broken up by police.—AFP
