LARKANA, June 5: A dozen villagers including six children fainted after drinking toxic lassi in a village near Larkana on Wednesday.

The villagers, residents of Muhammed Murad Brohi village 30 kilometers off Larkana, were rushed to the casualty department of the Chandka Medical College where they received first aid.

Those who fainted include Siraj, Immamuddin, Bilawal, Samreen, Sadia, Mohammad Bukhsh — aged between five and 13 years — 13-year-old Nadia, 30-year-old Khan Muhammed, 26-year-old Lalzadi, 40-year-old Aziz Bibi and 30-year-old Sakina.

After receiving first aid in the emergency department, the children were moved to Chandka children’s hospital while the elders were shifted to other wards.
