KASUR, May 11: The bodies of dacoits, Safdar Ali Joyia and Ghulam Rasool, were handed over to their families on Sunday night.

The body of Joyia was handed over to his grandfather Mumtaz Ali Joyia while Ghulam Rasool’s body to his two sisters.

A case has been registered against five accused — Shaukat Ali Dogar, Akhtar Ali Joyia, Rehmat Ali Dogar and two killed dacoits.

Kasur DPO Mian Ghulam Muhammad Kalyar constituted two teams under the supervision of City Circle SDPO Zaheer Babar Bajwa for the arrest of remaining outlaws.

It is learnt that Ghulam Rasool had murdered nine people and committed several dacoities and robberies.

He had escaped from jail several months ago. Similarly, Safdar Ali Joyia was also involved in several cases of dacoity and robbery.

DEMONSTRATION: A protest demonstration against the recent raise in power tariff was taken out by representatives of different labour organizations here on Sunday.

The protest procession was led by labour leader Lala Muhammad Sadiq and was attended by over 2,000 labourers.

Starting from the shrine of Hazrat Baba Bulleh Shah, the protesters terminated their march at Adda Lalyani after passing through various city roads.

The protesters were also carrying banners and placards inscribed with the demand of withdrawing the increase in power tariff.
