KARACHI, May 11: Sindh Education Minister Irfanullah Khan Marwat has vowed to bring about a revolution in the education system of the province within the next six months.

He was addressing a Qirat contest and certificate award ceremony of Maddressa Zia-ul-Quran under the auspices of Anjuman-e-Qamar-ul Islam Sulemania, in Manzoor Colony, on Sunday.

“The standard of education in the institutions run by the government is poor. But it will be improved to an extent that people will prefer government institutions to the private ones,” he said.

The minister said the construction work of the girls college in Azam Basti had commenced and a primary school would also be established in the area.

He urged the people to impart religious education to their children in addition to modern and scientific education. He donated two computers and an electric water-cooler for the students of the Maddressa. Maddressa principal Qari Muhammed Mian Chishti, speaking on the occasion, informed that 650 students were studying at the institution.

Later the education minister distributed prizes and certificates among the winners of the Qirat contest.—APP
