HARIPUR, May 10: The owners of all unregistered private educational institutions in Haripur have been given a one-month deadline in which to register themselves or face action.
The District Coordination Officer Haripur set this time-frame while speaking at a one-day training workshop arranged for the owners and teaching staff of Haripur-based private schools here on Saturday.
DCO Jehanzeb Khan praised the efforts of the private sector schools in enhancing the literacy rate in the country, and urged them to overcome the shortcomings often pin-pointed by parents, particularly pertaining to fee structure, curriculum and infratructural facilities for students.
He asked the private school owners to enhance their educational standards and do the needful to erase the negative impression about private institutions.
Offering every possible help to these institutions in addressing their genuine complaints, the DCO informed the gathering that from now on, only schools fulfilling the required standard would be given registration. He said surprise inspection of schools will be conducted and any institution found unregistered or contravening the rules would be sealed.
