KARACHI, May 25: Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested three suspects allegedly associated with one of the several criminal gangs operating in Lyari.

The Anti-Extremist Cell of the Crime Investigation Department arrested Farooq alias Gulabo, Aqeel alias Pado and Abdul Malik in the SITE area and recovered three TT pistols, as many grenades and a snatched motorcycle from them.

“All the three were actively involved in the Lyari gang warfare,” said a CID statement.

It said that the suspects were involved in the killing of over a dozen people and also wanted in several extortion and kidnapping for ransom cases.
