KARACHI, May 10: A man was stabbed to death in his Defence home when he offered strong resistance to bandits on Saturday.

Police said two bandits broke into the house of Abdul Ahad, 55, in Defence Phase-IV, and made the family hostage at gunpoint. Abdul Ahad resisted the bandits, who stabbed and injured him.

Someone in the home managed to call Madadgar 15, and the police reached the spot on time, forcing the bandits to flee.

The police chased the bandits and a shootout took place between them near PNT Colony in Gizri police station area where the police arrested the bandits and seized two TT pistols from them. They were identified as Ramazan alias Pappoo and Mohammad Alam.

Abdul Ahad was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. His body was handed over to the family after autopsy.
