DUBAI, May 10: The Pakistan consulate here has refused to honour free tickets given by the Pakistan Association to those Pakistani amnesty seekers who cannot afford to pay their own travel expenses.
“We will not honour air tickets issued by the association, and the amnesty seekers will be issued outpasses only when they purchase tickets from the airline at the consulate,” Pakistan Consul-General Amanullah Larik was quoted as saying.
Pakistan Association officials have confirmed a report published in a local newspaper that says the ticket price war has caused the controversy and the Pakistani mission has acted to defend the commercial interest of a Pakistan airline.—Correspondent
