KARACHI, May 21: Unseeded Nazif Ahmed chalked up an emphatic 6-0, 6-2 victory over Mohammad Dada to set-up a final clash with top seed Talha Zubair Surmawala in the juniors’ under-18 singles of the second National Bank of Pakistan Open national juniors and seniors tennis championship at Karachi Gymkhana on Tuesday.

Talha had prevailed over fourth seed Aqeel Shabbir 6-1, 6-1 in the first semi-final on Monday evening.

Results: Juniors’ under-18 singles: Quarter-final: Mohammad Dada bt Adnan Tufail 4-6, 6-0, 10-8. Semi-finals: Talha Zubair Surmawala bt Aqeel Shabbir 6-1, 6-1; Nazif Ahmed bt Mohammad Dada 6-0, 6-2. Girls’ under-14 singles: First round: Rida Khan bt Fizza Ghanchi 6-0, 6-0. Semi-final: Hania Naveed bt Kinza Ghanchi 6-2, 6-3. Girls’ under-18 singles: Semi-final: Maheen Dada bt Mahin Aftab 6-4, 6-0. Boys’ under-12 singles: Semi-finals: Mohammad Dada bt Asheesh Kumar 8-0; Amin Shafi bt Reyyan Jawad 9-7. 40 plus singles: First round: Aly Panju bt Noor Ahmed 6-1, 5-1 (retd); Tariq Jan Allahwala bt Shabbir Gul (Walkover); Mohammad Javed bt Rafi Derbari (walkover); Ejaz Sarhadi bt Amin Memon 6-1, 6-2; Mohammad Fayyaz bt Col Babar (walkover).
