PESHAWAR, May 21: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf nominee for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister’s slot Pervez Khattak on Tuesday said the next provincial government to be led by his party had the capability to curb lawlessness and put the province on path of development.

He was speaking during a meeting here at the Officers’ Mess, where independent MPA-elect Imran Khan Mohmand announced to join PTI.

Mr Khattak told participants that PTI had formulated a doable plan to for durable peace in the province.

He said the PTI-led government would expand social sector and ensure speedy dispensation of justice to the people on their doorstep.

The nominee for the CM slot said no compromise would be made on development work and that equitable distribution of resources to all districts would be ensured.

He said the promises made by PTI to voters would be kept.

“There will be no corruption and injustice in the province and that all people will be treated by the government equally. People from all sections of society will enjoy equal rights,” he said.

Mr Khattak said PTI and its coalition partners were in the process of making government.

He said his party was encouraging honest and devoted people as it wanted to serve the people with the utmost sincerity.

“Through active cooperation of colleagues, we will be successful in ensuring rapid development of the province. All our decisions will be made through consultation. Justice will be seen to be dispensed and that no one will be in a position to an accusing point finger at the PTI-led government,” he said.

The nominee for the CM slot said collective efforts of the next ruling coalition partners would help remove backwardness of the province and put it on the way to development.

He welcomed MPA-elect to the party and appreciated his spirit and enthusiasm for public service.

On the occasion, MPA-elect Imran Khan Mohmand reposed confidence in Imran Khan’s leadership and pledged to fully support his efforts to end lawlessness and work for the people’s prosperity.

He said he wouldn’t take perks and privileges as a member of the assembly and would use an ambulance to stay in contact with voters his constituency.

He said he had already donated land for a high school for handicapped children and would give ambulances to all union councils of his constituency.

Provincial PTI general secretary and MPA-elect Shaukat Yousafzai also spoke on the occasion.
