LAHORE, May 7: Computerized balloting for plots in Avenue-I — LDA’s residential scheme for government employees — will be held on May 23 as the authority’s governing body has approved its new map.

The body, which met here on Wednesday under the chairmanship of district Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood, was told that in the revised plan 100 kanals had been added to commercial areas and more land earmarked for educational institutions.

According to the new drawings, 12 plots of 10 kanals each have been earmarked for primary and middle schools, four plots of 20 kanals each for boys and girls high schools and two plots of 36 kanals each for boys and girls colleges.

The body also approved an amendment to the LDA Building Regulations to protect roads from higher ramps.

No hedges, fences or other constructions would be allowed along the roads.

The meeting decided that no road would be constructed or repaired in any LDA scheme until residents of the area did not remove ramps for entrances to their respective homes.

LDA director-general Shahid Khan, DCO Khalid Sultan, town Nazims Khwaja Ahmad Hassan, Chaudhry Ashiq Diyal, Rafiq Hasrat, Chaudhry Ashraf and Sardar Adil Omar and officials of finance, planning and housing departments attended the meeting.
