SUKKUR, May 6: Twelve persons, including two policemen, were injured in a clash between Gashkori and Khoso tribesmen near 27 Mile, Risaldar police station jurisdiction, on Tuesday.

Abdul Hameed Gashkori, Ghalib Hussain Gashkori, Abdul Karim Gashkori, Mumtaz Ali Gashkori, Ejaz Ahmad Gashkori, Mohammad Hassan Gashkori, Ali Gul Gashkori, Habibullah Khoso, police constables Abdul Rasheed Sammoo and Qadir Bukhsh Jagirani, and two other persons were injured in the armed clash that started over the possession of a plot.

Tension has gripped the area as both the groups have entrenched against each other.

SHOT DEAD: A 16-year-old boy was shot dead by unidentified persons in Thermal Colony here on Tuesday.

The armed men, who came in a car, opened fire on the boy, Maher Ali, injuring him.

The boy was taken to the Sukkur Civil Hospital where he died.

The police said the murder was the result of a dispute between Chachar and Teghani tribes.

DRUGS: Sindh Excise and Taxation Minister M. A. Rauf Siddiqui has directed officers of the department to ensure vigilance over the sale of narcotics in the district.

Talking to heads of various nation building departments at the circuit house here on Tuesday, the minister expressed his dissatisfaction over the performance of the Sukkur excise and taxation department.
