Khaliq, Yousuf strike for ABL

BANNU, May 5: Abdul Khaliq and Mohammad Yousuf struck twice in the 6-0 victory of Allied Bank (ABL) over Sindh Greens in the national football championship here on Monday.

Khaliq opened the scoring in the 26th minute, while Amir Khan doubled the lead five minutes before the halftime whistle. Khaliq got his double in the 77th minute and Yousuf made it 4-0 netting his first a minute later.

Sindh Greens’ compiled their miseries when Zaman scored an own goal in the 85th minute to help the opposition move ahead. Yousuf completed the rout with a 92nd-minute strike.

In another one-sided affair, two-goal Shahid Saleem propelled Habib Bank (HBL) to a 4-0 triumph over Punjab Greens.

The bankers shocked their rivals with fifth-minute raid through Shakir Hussain which proved the only goal of the first half.

Two Shahid strikes in the 55th and 77th minutes helped bankers surged 3-0 ahead. Habib Ghulam wrapped up with a fourth in the 85th minute.
