SHIKARPUR, May 5: Pakistan People’s Party leader Aftab Shahban Mirani has said Sindh is sustaining losses in agriculture products due to the shortage of water.

He was talking to newsmen here on Monday.

Mr Mirani called upon the Sindh government to ensure that rights of Sindh were protected and the province received its share of water in accordance with the 1991 Water Accord.

He said the recent Indus River System Authority meeting had failed to resolve the matter.

About the Legal Framework Order, the former defence minister said the PPP would continue its struggle with other opposition parties against the LFO.

He said his party opposed the LFO for it was not a part of the Constitution.

He said the ongoing negotiations with the government had failed to give positive results.

The PPP leader accused the government of violating democratic and moral values to meet its political ends.

Replying to a question about the recent expansion in the Sindh cabinet, Mr Mirani said the provincial government was flooded with ministers and advisers which could create more problems instead of resolving them.

He also criticized the Sindh government for not lifting the ban on recruitment.
