Published May 6, 2003

BADIN, May 5: The activists of Sindh National Council and growers took out a procession here on Monday to protest against the water shortage in Sindh and construction of the Thal canal.

They were raising slogans against the Thal canal project and for due share of the Indus water for Sindh.

Participants gathered at the Mehran Chowk and after marching on different roads they staged a sit-in at main roundabout of the city, where Dr Dodo Maheri and others delivered speeches. They threatened that if Sindh continued to be denied its due share of water, the entire province would rise in protest.
