BANNU, May 4: Imran Hussain spared Pakistan Army’s blushes, scoring a late winner in the 2-1 victory over Fata in the 46th national football championship here on Sunday.

Fata shocked armymen when they went ahead through Nadir Khan in the dying seconds of the first half. The soldiers recovered after the break and equalised with a penalty kick converted by Ghulam Ali.

Imran’s match-winning goal came in the 67th minute.

The game between Punjab Reds and Karachi City District Government (CDGK) ended in a 0-0 draw.

Punjab Reds were reduced to ten players in the 67th minute when Farooq Khan was shown a red card, but the game remained goalless with CDGK failing to take advantage.

Monday’s fixtures: ABL v Sindh Greens; HBL v Punjab Reds.
