NEW DELHI, May 4: Peace moves between India and Pakistan have the full support of President Pervez Musharraf and the army, Foreign Minister Khursheed Mehmood Kasuri told an Indian TV channel on Sunday.

“As Foreign Minister of Pakistan, I am privy to many meetings,” Mr Kasuri told the Aaj Tak channel. “The present process has the complete backing of President Musharraf. Let me say it with authority, the Pakistani army and if you want to add mirch masala (spice) ISI also,” he said.

“That’s why he (General Musharraf) is talking of Shimla agreement. He is very much on board. Oh yes, very much on board,” Mr Kasuri said. He described India’s fresh initiatives as “better late than never.”

“Pakistan is ready to start the dialogue process so as to hold meaningful discussions on all outstanding issues including that of Jammu and Kashmir,” Mr Kasuri said. “We are pleased that measures, unilaterally taken by New Delhi previously affecting our relations, are being withdrawn,” he said.
