LAHORE, Feb 27: The last westerly wave of the winter weakened after generating rain and snowfall at many places in the country on Wednesday.

The Met office expects the temperatures will start rising in few days in view of the dry weather.

Dir received 63mm of rain, Drosh 62mm, Saidu Sharif and Islamabad airport 57mm (each), Risalpur 55mm, Pattan 54mm, Parachinar 50mm, Lower Dir 49mm, Malamjabba 46mm, Joharabad 41mm, Okara 38mm, Mianwali 34mm, Bannu 33mm, Sahiwal 32mm, Murree 31mm, Cherat 30mm, Rawalakot 29mm, Muzaffarabad 28mm, Dera Ismail Khan and Kakul 27mm (each), Kohat 24mm, Chitral 22mm, Kotli 21mm, Mandi Bahauddin, Mirkhani, Kalam and Mangla 18mm (each), Jhelum, Sialkot airport and Noorpur Thal 15mm (each), Lahore and Sialkot airport 14mm (each), Faisalabad and Sialkot Cantt 13mm (each), Peshawar airport and Pattan 12mm (each), and Dera Ghani Khan 10mm.

The Met office expects isolated thunderstorm/rain with snowfall over the hills over Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, North Punjab and Kashmir, while mainly dry weather is likely over the rest of the country in the next 24 hours.
