LAHORE, Feb 13: The opposition has submitted a requisition to the Punjab Assembly Secretariat to seek a session of the house to raise the issue of police torture of PPP MPA Shaukat Basra.

Mr Basra had been injured during police baton-charge on Feb 10 when he had joined the young doctors who were on hunger strike and trying to see the chief minister at the opening of the Metro Bus System.

The MPA from Bahawalpur alleges that he had been targeted by the police on the direction of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
