KARACHI, Feb 3: Three outsiders stunned seeded players to storm into boys’ under-19 semi-finals in the third Rehana Nazar national junior squash championship at Rashidabad, Tando Allahyar, on Sunday.

Sindh’s Noman Khan pulled off the biggest upset when he removed top seed Abbas Shaukat of the PAF straight 11-8, 11-4, 11-6 in the quarter-final.

Similarly, Kashif Asif sent third seed Salman Hashmi packing 11-9, 11-5, 11-5 while Zeeshan Khan shocked fourth seed Hamza Imtiaz 11-5, 11-6, 5-11, 11-7.

Second seed Abdullah Bashir survived a scare while getting the better of Ismail Rauf in the fully stretched battle 9-11, 11-7, 7-11, 12-10, 11-9.

Chief guest Major General Inam-ul-Haq graced the opening ceremony on Saturday followed by first round.
