MUZAFFARABAD, Jan 14: AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, on Monday, announced Rs1 million as compensation for bereaved families of Quetta and said a delegation would visit the provincial capital to offer condolences.

This was said during a visit to a camp of protestors, protesting the January 10, killings of 120 Shia Muslims in Quetta.

The AJK premier praised Shia Muslims for demonstrating patience and perseverance in the supreme national interest, notwithstanding the tragedy that occurred.

“Particularly, the way you people exercised your democratic and legal right to protest in a peaceful manner, deserves applause and appreciation from the government,” he told the protestors.

Mr Majeed plans to send a delegation to Quetta under the leadership Mufti Kifayat Hussain Naqvi, who was also present on the occasion. The prime minister appreciated imposition of governor’s rule in Balochistan, terming it a positive step in the right direction.
