KARAK, Dec 20: MPA Mehar Sultana of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and her brother Jehanzeb Khattak will join Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Friday.
They said that they would join PPP on Friday at a public meeting in the presence of its provincial chief Anwar Saifullah Khan in Takht-i-Nusrati.
Ms Sultana said that they had rendered sacrifices for PML-N when its leadership was in exile. She claimed that she organised the party in the district level.
The MPA said that they conveyed their grievances to PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif regarding party’s provincial general secretary Rehmat Salam Khattak and he promised to resolve the issue. Nawaz Sharif had formed a committee, headed by former central general secretary Saranjam Khan, to investigate the issue but Rehmat Salam rejected it and refused to appear before it.
Ms Sultana said that PML-N provincial general secretary created a lot of problems for her. She said that she was not invited to the public meeting at Takht-i-Nusrati that was addressed by PML-N central general secretary Iqbal Zafar Jhagra.
Jehanzeb Khattak also criticised the party leadership for not hearing to the genuine problems of the party workers. He said that they were forced to quit the party as they had no say in its affairs.
He said that he would contest elections for the provincial assembly seat on the ticket of PPP.
