PESHAWAR, Dec 20: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Thursday urged the youth to change the defeated mindset and fight for a new Pakistan.

“Only a brave and courageous individual can lead the country from the front. You are the future of this country and you have to lead it from the front, so be ready for the future responsibilities. You would have to fight for a new Pakistan and change the defeated mindset,” he told an Insaf Student Federation Youth Convention here at Tehmas Stadium.

The PTI chief said his party would sweep the coming general elections, form government and take the plunderers of national wealth to task mercilessly.

He said corrupt politicians would face the music as the PTI special cell was compiling information about their ill-gotten wealth. Mr Khan said the rulers should get ready for accountability as PTI was going to make a new Pakistan where the people would get speedy justice as envisioned by Quaid-i-Azam.

“In new Pakistan, there is no place for Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif as both have completed their turns in power. Now it is the turn of PTI to lead the country to progress by holding corrupt people accountable and bring back looted money from abroad,” he said.

The PTI chief alleged that Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari were not the true leaders of the country as the former was the production of a martial law administrator in Punjab, while the other claimed that he became the leader to fulfill his wife’s desire.

He said both PML-N and PPP leaders were grooming their children to pass their legacy of corruption on to them.

Mr Khan claimed that PML-N had struck an underhand deal with PPP but they were fully exposed before the people, who would never give them another chance to rule the country and close the chapter of dynastic politics forever.

He said his ‘old friend’ and Awami National Party leader Asfandyar Wali should explain position on the illegal transfer of wealth to Dubai and Malaysia, while Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman should tell the nation how he took his money abroad.

The PTI chief urged Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Altaf Hussain to return to the country without delay.

“All sins of Altaf Hussain, who has been ruling the country from abroad for 20 years, will be forgiven if he returns to the country,” he said.

Mr Khan said the youth should prepare themselves for both party and general elections and that the party would field youths in the next elections.

“The youth are our destiny and future. PTI will provide 25 per cent of its tickets in the next elections to the people aged 35 or below,” he said, asking youngsters to fully participate in the party and general elections.

The PTI chief urged the people not to vote those with accounts in foreign banks, blaming the people’s misery on them.

He said both PML-N and PPP were doing a great job by carrying turnouts along with them as this would help free PTI from corrupt and crooked people.

One wonders what the rationale was for the foreign minister — a highly demanding, full-time job — being assigned various other political responsibilities.
