MINGORA, Dec 2: Four people, two brothers and their nephew among them, were killed and another was injured when gunmen opened fire on a van in Kabal tehsil of Swat district on Sunday.

Police sources said the van was carrying passengers from Mingora to Qalaqai when the gunmen attacked it in Sar Khazana area. The deceased were identified as Said Arab, his brother Salahuddin, nephew Amir Rehman and Bacha Sher.

The gunmen escaped after the attack.

Police and security personnel cordoned off the area after the incident and launched a search operation to arrest the culprits.

A case was registered against unidentified attackers. DSP Muzakir Shah quoted relatives of the victims as saying they had no enmity with anyone.
