KARACHI, Nov 19: A man was shot dead in Korangi Industrial Area on Monday, police said.

They added that a man barged into the house of his relative Mohammad Mir in Korangi Industrial Area Sector 6, fired at him and escaped.

Area DSP Qasim Ghori said a few months back, the victim had married Ishrat Bibi, a mother of five. The suspect, Waqas alias Bhola, was a son-in-law of the woman, he added.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

A case (FIR 1017/2012) was registered under Section 302 (premeditated murder) of the penal code against Waqas alias Bhola on a complaint of Saeed Akhtar, a relative of the victim, at the Korangi Industrial Area police station.
