This is so odd!’ I thought as I got on a bus standing on a lonely road on the way to my home from school, but there was no one in it. The engine was running though and the belongings were there. I thought, the people might have got off the bus and would be back soon.

Time passed by, but not even a single person came up on the bus.

I went outside to look around and was surprised to see no sign of a single human being. I got back on the bus to get my belongings that I left on a seat, as I had decided to walk home, when suddenly the bus started moving and its doors closed!

I thought that the driver was back so I peeked at the driver’s seat. I was taken aback, when I saw no one sitting at the driver’s seat, and that the bus was moving on its own.

‘This might be some sort of spiritual activity,’ a thought struck my mind.

A couple of shivers ran through my spine. I suddenly looked back. There was no one. I ran over to the doors of the bus and tried all I would do to open it, but in vain. All of a sudden the lights of the bus went off, then on and again off, my eyes caught the sight of bloodstains dripping from one of the corners of the bus.

I stood there, numb, when I felt a piercing pinch over my right hand, and at once blood started flowing. The pain was unbearable, I knew there was some spirit involved in this.

I thought I would die, I had no hope of getting out of this situation, when I heard a voice that echoed in the bus, saying, “You are next, you’ll die, you are next…”

Tears overflowed my cheeks, I was trembling with fear. I was about to faint, when I saw with my eyes half open, an old man dressed in white.

He came towards me and smiled. He said, “Do you even know, you were surrounded by ghostly spirits just a second ago! They were here to harm you! But now you are safe, and that’s because of your mother who is anxiously waiting and worried for you. She prayed for your safety and betterment and so I am here!”

I could not believe my ears. I was not in a state to move or even speak a word. He kept his hand on my eyes and the very next thing that I saw was my house in front of me.

I was very glad and decided to thank that kind old man, but I found him nowhere. He had gone so I closed my eyes and thanked God for sending him and then I quickly ran towards my house, banged open the door and hugged my mother who was standing there waiting for me.

I narrated the whole incident to her, she consoled me and said to me to think of it as a nightmare and forget it.
