HYDERABAD, Sept 23: Workers of the Jeay Sindh Tehreek held a demonstration outside the local press club on Sunday in protest against Sindh People’s Local Government Ordinance (SPLGO-2012) and Zulfikarabad city project.

Carrying banners and placards, men, women and children chanted slogans against the government.

Leading the protest, Tehreek chairman Dr Safdar Sarki and other leaders Fida Hussain and Sohail Abro demanded of the government to repeal the ordinance and shelve the city project.

They also supported a protest call for Sept 26 given by Sindh Bachayo Committee (Save Sindh Committee) against SPLGO 2012.

The committee had announced that highways would be blocked and sit-ins would be held during the protest.

The JST leaders said the SPLGO would divide Sindh and Sindhi people could never tolerate division of their motherland.—Staff Correspondent
